After processing my siblings Italian citizenship documents at TIA, along Pasong Tamo, Ext., It's weird that their address says Magallanes, though I know Magallanes to be the village which was on the other side of SLEX. I searched for a coffee place nearby through Zomato.
Boulangerie 22 came up which was just 5 minutes away of drive. I took the jeepney towards Fort Bonifacio and got there in no time. It was already passed 4 pm, the cafe seems gloomy since no one was there except for the two staff behind the counter.
Upon entering you will notice the place is small and looks like a minuscule subway space turned into a cafe. With every subway train stations, there are subway tiles and I'm just in love with them, in fact, I'm planning to have our bedroom walls redesigned using them. The first time I saw this kind of tiles in a cafe is at Toby's Estate at Century City mall.
Subway train maps imitation on both sides of the ceiling adorns the place. The industrial pendant lamps seem to go well with the theme.
When you enter the small door, you will be instantly drawn to the center counter loaded with breads and pastries. And I love, love, love the smell of freshly -baked bread and it did drew me closer to the breads.
I took the right side first as if touring a bread museum and inspected each bread, missing the cake display casing.
The idea is like that of French Baker, where you get your choice of the breads that had been laid all over the store.
After getting a pack of sliced breads and some croissants, I went to the counter and asked if they also serve coffee. Apparently, they do, from American, Latte to Cappuccino and I was surprised they also serve soups and pasta too.
Had a slice of Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake which was at 50 % discount. I've been craving for something sweet the whole week during this time I was arranging my siblings' documents, and yep, it was quite a fix, it was definitely a stress-buster.
I love that my fork could easily glide through the chunk of the outer chocolate lining of the mousse cake. The mousse layer has that perfect texture, not to gelatinous, not sticky and definitely not runny, it has the creamiest texture and how can I be happier, it isn't too sweet at all, decadent but not cloying.
What I love the most about this experience is a good big cup of Cappuccino for only P 89. Beat that! Perfect partner for my choice of sweet indulgence. I hope they could add flat white to their line of coffee or French pressed, since they are a French bread store after all.
Let me add to the cuteness of the whole concept, the warm welcome and candid operation of the staff attending on that day. I'll definitely come back for some of their breads and they always offer discounts on their breads.
