Woven Voyages: 8th LIKHANG HABI TEXTILE FAIR 2018

What does it mean when you buy something made locally?

According to the author of the book Going Local, Michael H. Shuman, "when you buy local, it means you are nurturing locally owned businesses, which use local resources sustainably, employ local workers at decent wages and serve primarily local consumers. It means becoming more self-sufficient and less dependent on imports. Control moves from the boardrooms of distant corporations and back into the community where it belongs.”

Sony Channel's The Art of More + An Auction Experience

Question:  Where do you find rich people, sipping endlessly on out-pouring wines, and bidding on vintage and lavish lots?

Answer: Auction

If you've thought of the same word, then, the bid is yours!

I've always dreamed of myself to be in an auction someday.  I knew it would be far from reality, for one, I'm not that confident in bidding my money (which may not be substantial), also, I may not be that knowledgeable in the value of such an item.  Though I do know that if a thing is to be auctioned, it better be pretty valuable and what that seemed to leave people wanting it.

Miracle Art, An Optical Art Exhibition in Circuit Makati

Our "Sugarbabe" turned 12 last May 5 and she only asked to go to the carnival and invite one of her closest friend with us.  We call our third child that way as a term of endearment, as many have known her as a juvenile DM. (diabetic Type 1).

Our initial plan of going to EK didn't happen after considering the supah hot weather and the traffic from Manila to the South.  Plus her friend's mom hesitated to accept the invitation since it was far from them, even though we will be following them were ever they've wish to go.

Manila Art 2015 at SM Aura: A Photo Journal

My daughters were so stoked at the Manila Art 2015 last October 11.  It was a three-day viewing open for public with a ticket fare that's so affordable.  I was blessed enough to have been given compli tickets by Tita Marikit Figuerres of the Dept. of Education and my girls couldn't been any happier.

With Jonathan Olazo as art fair curator, this year’s exhibitors include Archivo, Arte Pintura, Artery Manila, Artes Orientes, Art for Space, Art Galileia, Artologist, Asian Prime Contemporary, Big and Small, Bruno, Galerie Anna, Galerie Artes, Galerie Francesca, Galerie Nicolas, Galerie Raphael, Galerie Y, Gallery Big, Gallery Nine, L’Arc en Ciel, Quattrocento, Renaissance, Vmeme, 1335 Mabini, and 371 Art Space.

David Gerstein's Artwork at Manila Art 2015

In the recently concluded Manila Art 2015 held at SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, I saw for the first time some creations from David Gerstein.  It was while watching HGTV that piqued my interest in this particular wall décor that's colorful and 3D.  The video was taped from a house in Singapore that's being featured.  I knew instantly that it would come from a top caliber artist but I could never get a hold of this artists' name.

Dinosaurs Island Adventure with my Girls

Overcome your fears of these ferocious monsters, for they conquered this part of Clark, Angeles, Pampanga.  Hundreds of them, different kinds and sizes, are scattered and kept captive inside the walled park known as Dinosaur Island, only it's not really an island per se.

In my girls' recent class field trip, I was the one who chaperoned them, I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy it, since I'll be flying the next day to Cebu, but I made sure that I keep my girls safe, hydrated enough and having a blast with their friends and classmates.  Though, I hated walking under the sweltering heat of the sun, I just made the most of it while keeping up with my Dana and Danica.

The planned itinerary all summed up in Clark Free Port, Angeles City, Pampanga.  We first visited Nayong Pilipino, then the aircraft park, next is the Creamline Factory, and finally at Dino Island Park.

The tour and entrance fee is P 150.00, this includes activities such as the walk along the Dino Trail with a tour guide, entrance to the Fossils Museum, and an entertaining (yet scary) dance number from some dinosaur mascots.

The following photos show how exciting the tour was, as if you were walking on a forest being migrated by semi-life-sized dinosaurs.

First, pardon me for the not so clear photos, as I didn't manage to bring my heavy dslr, I guess not for this trip though, since I anticipated.
