Marco Polo Davao: A Class of it's Own

Davao City, said to be the safest city in Mindanao, was hit with a terrible terrorism attack weeks ago.  Heartbreaking news of people not surviving the bombing have been the hot topic in the news for a week since it happened.  However, I still think it still has that charm to bring people in the city despite the saddening news.

I don't think that horrible news will disdain people to visit and experience what awaits tourists in Davao.

Davao has lots to offer both for the adventure-seekers or the bliss-makers.  For our second day in the province, we spent exploring its themed parks and one famous cacao farm.

To make the most of our day-tour, we also went to The Philippine Eagle Center, for a close encounter with the country's monkey-eating eagles.

We spent a day of a hectic schedule on an overture with some delightful meals in between.  But the highlight of our Davao tour was our stellar night stay at Marco Polo Davao.

Gliding through life knowing exactly what you need to do as a mom to four is but a dream for me. "It's a hard knock life," as I quote for Annie, though an exaggeration.  Things happen without you expecting it to, it definitely includes bad times.

However, there is always hope, I wake up everyday knowing something good is about to happen, I try to envision grace pouring out like a gush of spring water streaming from beautiful rocky mountains. I know for this is what the Lord God promises.

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;[a]
    his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
 Lamentations 3:22-23English Standard Version (ESV)
Hence, I truly consider our stay at Marco Polo as one of the best my family have had.  Smacked right at the center of most of the business establishments in Davao City, Marco Polo is said to be a favorite accommodation for businessmen and family alike.

We stayed at two of their well-managed rooms, since we are a family of 6.  Our rooms facing each other on the 5th floor

CABANA DELUXE ACCOMMODATION

Nestled at the 4th floor and just walking distance to an ample of the hotel's amenities, the Cabana Deluxe is perfect for the honeymooners.

It's a huge 55 sq m. / 592 sq ft. room that has one queen bed, an office area, and sitting spot behind the sliding door which then leads to The Deck.

LCD color TV with cable channels is right in front of the bed.  You can see how elegant the interior is with the shiny wooden floors. hard wood furniture, all harmonize with the modern touches around the room in the forms of lighting.

Inside the wardrobe.

The luxurious room includes its own bathroom, complete with hot and cold shower and big tub.

While indulging in the hor d'oeuvres prepared for us, my daughter came out of our bathroom with a ceramic bowl and told me,"Mommy, this really is a fancy hotel, they have nice smelling salt scrub!"

Yes, they do, together with a good quality hygiene kit, bathrobes and towels.

 DELUXE ROOM

My kids stayed on the room adjacent to us.  The Deluxe room have two double-sized beds.  The room is slightly smaller than our's but it is wall-to-wall carpeted.
