Recipe: Strawberry and Banana Crumble

A couple of days ago, our meal called for  a really quick and easy to prepare stir-fry vegetables, #MEATLESS.  So, while searching for recipes, and checking what was left on my fridge, I stumbled upon an adorable picture of crumble in cups.

It seems yummy and so Instragrammable, so it left me reading the segment and studying how to make the crumble.  The book is entitled Food to Love, btw, written by an Irish chef named Edward Hayden.

World Meat Free Week for Healthy Environment

We all eat. right?!

That's unquestionable and undebatable.

But the question is? Are we eating the way we should be? Are we aware of the impact or the issues of what we put on our plate?

Every day, we munch, grub, consume food multiple times a day, understanding the impact of our food choices (and not just on our waistlines) can be pretty important too, you know.

Realizing this and many other things concerning eating less meat and more vegetables, after being invited to attend a pre-campaign project with Greenpeace Philippines, I decided to get involved somehow as they promote #DIETFORCLIMATE.

DisneyLife by Globe: Bringing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars in One App

Just like many Baby Boomers, and Gen X, I grew up with Disney cartoons.  It's loved and watched by trillions of children worldwide.  It made the world less stressful, fun and creative! In fact, Generations Y and Z also is not an exemption to this craze.  Until now, I'm still mesmerized with the Disney princesses movies and have continued to love animations made outside it, such as Pixar.

Before May ended, Globe made another mark in the fun digital world. Globe Telecom, together with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, introduced DisneyLife: The World of Disney in One App.

When Moms Were Celebrated by Emborg

Because...Moms are amazing!

There are only a few more ways a mother shows her love other than food. After all, a mother is her child's first source of sustenance, and the desire to nourish her kids extends well beyond their childhood. Food is every mom's expression of love, and as long as there is love, then food will be always be a mother's priority.

A Mother's Day Treat from Shopwise

Grocery shopping is life! - MOMs.

I was able to watch the  movie Bad Moms again and this grocery store movie clip really made my day last Mother's Day.

Moms I know you would agree to this: "You know you're a mom if going to the grocery store is a vacation."

Whether it is a typical thing or a vacation unplanned, there is something that makes every mom excited on a trip to grocery stores.  It used to be a bonding time when my kids were still small, but I realized you save a lot more time and money when you go without them.  It's like that time when you needed to buy a few things for the bathroom and ended leaving with bags and bagful of children's snack faves.

Make Your Own “Cheeseventions” with Cheez Whiz and Win P 10,000

In our home, and our kitchen is not excempted, creativity is a huge factor.

I made sure my kids grew up with wild imaginations, and I dared not limit their creativity but taught them self-discipline which includes following instructions from us parents.

Educators believe that it’s important to help develop kids’ creativity? Being creative does not only mean they will be good in doing art, it also helps develop them mentally, socially and emotionally. It is every mom's important role to foster creativity in their child in every way they can.

What can be a better idea to foster creativity than to let them create their everyday snacks?

Cheez Whiz, the number one cheese spread in the country, has been spreading goodness during snack time for over 50 years. What makes it the leading cheese spread in the county is its thickness and amazing cheesy flavor.

Cheez Whiz' thickness is an explosion of flavor that goes with everything. Cheez Whiz is not only for making Creamy Cheesy Sandwiches but for creating different “Cheeseventions” snacks as well.  Kids of all ages can enjoy creating and mixing Cheez Whiz with other ingredients. Its two amazing flavors Original and Pimiento can drive kid’s imagination to create snacks! Make a sandwich tower! Cheez Whiz Mac and Cheese!  Use Cheez Whiz as a dip! The possibilities are endless!

Here’s one example moms and kids can create:

Solar Cheestem:
A delicious snack that’s out of this world!

* Cupcakes
* Cheez Whiz 220g
* Planet toppers

1. Spread thick Cheez Whiz on top of the cupcakes.
2. Lay out the Solar System placemat on the table.
3. Place a cupcake on each planet outline.
4. Stick the toppers into the cupcakes.

To teach moms and kids to create their #CheezWhizCheeseventions, Cheez Whiz recently held a demo and workshop event at SM Megamall Activity Center last May 8, Tuesday.

Leading the pack of moms and kids who attended the event are celebrity mom and daughter Bettinna and Gummy Carlos.

Aside from the stations, Chef DJ Santos also led the Cheese 101 workshop where he demonstrated three (3) fun and easy recipes to make with your favorite Cheez Whiz – Cheesy Pepperoni Tower, Cheesy Cupcake Pops, and Cheesy Burrito.

AllHome Mother's Day Workshop

Presumptively, just a probability, in my past-life, I could have been an interior designer, that's if the term even existed 100 years ago, or something in that sense.  However, back in the days, when the only art I know is finishing a hard cross-stitch pattern (after having amass almost all the colors of DMC threads), design was a term that never existed in my "mom-thoughts."

Cherry Blossom Feels with Tenya's Sakura Tendon

Japan's sought-after season, the “sakura” or cherry blossom, symbolizes spring time, the season of the year
have been celebrated for centuries in such art forms as haiku, ukiyo-e (woodblock prints), and traditional music. In a culture deeply imbued with Buddhism, the bloom of the beautiful sakura are a natural symbol of the notion of impermanence, a yearly reminder of the transience of all life.

This makes the season at its busiest, what drives thousands of tourists to Japan yearly.

Finding Your Tribe? The Struggle is REAL!

Bumped into this IG account- smallgirlbigglobe, while browsing over my social media accounts. In her newest post she expressed, "The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. the woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before." These are actually Albert Einstein's words as she quoted.

Equivalently, an FB friend of mine announced in his timeline that he's about to UNFOLLOW some accounts, while me on the the other hand was killing my hands and fingers trying to connect to more people.

West Town's Coffee Puts Value in Reliving Coffee Tradition

With the rise of the third wave coffee trend in the country, there is a shining future for our coffee industry, however, while coffee  business is growing, coffee farming locally is not given the proper recognition. Less and less Filipino farmers are into coffee planting or sustaining coffee farms, while the demand is on rise, our supply is insufficient.

Artsy Easter at Buddha Bar

April 1, Easter Sunday, probably one of the days when traveling or taking a cab from our place to Kalayaan Ave., in Makati was a breeze.

It is probably the last Easter kiddie party or event my youngest daughter would have attended.

Buddha Bar was kind enough to invite us to their Easter event where families with kids gathered to savor a buffet spread made only for that day and made sure the place was welcoming enough for the kids.

Making Your Tap Water the Purest and Cleaner with IVO

What if you have a device at home where you can easily have the cleanest, purest water with the turn of the tap?

You might say, "that's impossible," as Manila's water can be so dirty and might have millions of pollutants and toxins in it.

What if I say it's now possible.  Well, it has been since the launching of Torayvino in the market two years ago, many homes have been given safe water from their own faucet.

Artheraphy, To Remind Us of the TRUTH!

Long, long time ago, after attending an event near E. Rod., I came across this cute coffee shop as I waiting for a cab ride.  It was on a rush hour so I had to just ask my husband to pick me up as it was hard to get a ride.  As I was waiting for him, I took shelter at this cute coffee shop, with a Biblical verse as if trying to invite me in.

Growing Your Own Food from Seed

Some of us have a primal urge to get back to our roots and learn how to become more self-sufficient. Others are content to go to the grocery store and purchase fruits, vegetables, and other unhealthy processed foods at the checkout line. Still, others want to be able to take the seeds that create life, plant them into the ground, and ultimately have a harvest of great tasting fruits and veggies that they can eat all year long and share with family and friends.

Discover the Flavor of Tex-Mex in SM MOA at Fiery Style

I could not forget the first time our family had Tex-Mex together and it was five years ago in Dumaguete. Imagine, we even have to travel all the way to Dumaguete to be able to try what is said to be authentic yet with a modern flair of Mexican dishes.

We loved that foodie experience and since then, we'd have this hankering for Tex-Mex or even some true-blue Mexican dish, from time to time.

Lessons LIFE Taught Me for 42 Years

You've heard it right I'm already 42 (March 20 was my birthday, haven't you known) and I never denied my age,  but I try to conceal it, I'd to thank good health, contentment, and love for that.

Again, many would be surprised if I tell them my age and I always get this statement, "You don't look your age!" And I would joke like "Oo nga parang 39 lang" (when I told them I'm already 40). Many would say, age is just a number, I couldn't agree more, but I'd rather use this thought - As we grow old, We grow riper.

On Being a Prime Mom with Mega Prime’s Canned Fruits and Vegetables

Mega Prime, the brand that paved the way to quality canned vegetables in the market had just recently renewed their contracts with Marian Rivera-Dantes.  Since it's plunge into the market bringing canned Mushrooms, Kernel Corn, and Green Peas products, they knew Marian would best suit the embodiment of a Mega Prime endorser.

Many girls look up to Marian especially now that she is a mom to an equally beautiful girl. It was indubitable for people not to notice the brand without Maryan in the picture, and according to her, she uses the products and believes in the products.  She added, "if you know the product and can trust it, why would I not approve the tie-up with Mega Prime?"

LG's Stand for a Cleaner, Greener Environment for Women

In modern societies, it is important to consider how we connect and preserve with nature.

Pollution (air, noise and waste) is on the rise, biodiversity is lost, and, all over the world, people are suffering the consequences of climate change due to constant development.

Women, in particular, are more vulnerable to the detrimental effects caused by pollution and toxic substances compared to men. Women have a different relationship with the environment given their needs and responsibilities as household stewards, economic providers, and their role in reproduction.

Birthday Month GIVEAWAY!

HELLO everyone!

Have you ever heard of the phrase "mad as a March hare?"

Well, that's literally how I would sum up this month! Try as I must, I don't want to put myself in the same idiom sense.  I still managed to be collected and not too frantic about my calendar being full and wonky, but there would be times, that I would be likened to Mad Hatter but definitely not the March Hare.

Recipe: Cheesy Beef Stroganoff

Sometimes, when we're tired of eating chicken dishes, we buy fresh-cut beef in the market and end up cooking it either "tapa-style" or "Bistek."  But when you have tons of Anchor products in your fridge, especially having their cheeses in packs, you get to be inventive.
