LG’s ThinQ System, for a Smarter and More Connected Home

Have you ever wondered what life would be like if your home ran on AI or artificial intelligence? This home would understand you. It would know to put on the news as soon as you wake up. It would cool your living room to your desired temperature at a certain time each night. It would put your washing machine on the "soiled clothes" setting because it knows, based on your calendar, that you’ve been to the gym.

Your home would be doing this, not because you had asked it to but because it had been learning from your behavioral patterns, understanding your needs and then automating your home based on your habits. Like an efficient assistant, it can predict what you want even before you ask for it.

Recipe: Healthy Carrot Loaf Makes a Great Lunchbox Snack or Dessert

I know like many other moms, you also strive to put healthier balance in your family's diet.  Many people are looking for ways to become healthier, and I'm your go to mommy recipe-trier, for those food who can answer to your cravings but won't make you cry guilty after.

I have had long years of trying this and that, and replacing this with that, and adding this and that, just to make a dish complete with the nutrients your kids need.  Or just like what you might be thinking of me, right now, I'm healthy-food junkie (or crazy).  Call me anything, but don't call me a bad mom.  I know, I know, my kids are just hating me every time I try out something, like adding malunggay to my cookies or brownies or using a different kind of flour.

A Whiff of Modern Freshness and Simple Elegance

Ladies and gents, let me ask you, do you remember the shirt your first date wore? How about the brand of shoes? Would she be carrying a bag? Wore a piece of knock out accessory?

I bet you won't recall any of those!  Coz, try as I must, I too, couldn't remember what my first love wore, but one thing I couldn't forget, except for his face and being a gentleman, his scent, the perfume he wore.  Until now, whenever I get a whiff of that on my husband, I remember...

Restoring Balance in a Mom's Life at City Garden Hotel Makati

When a woman bears a child and brings his or her into this world, she will forget who she wanted to be.  Each time she raises one, their dreams become hers. Their hurts become hers.

She loses some and yet gains some.

Last Saturday, I spent time alone with my husband, I felt so guilty for having him line up for parking in Megamall while I attend to some mommy blogger friends at the recently concluded Smart Parenting Convention 2018.

Papa Kim's Korean Bakery and Coffee at the Ayala the 30th

Two heads are better than one, don't you think?

Same goes in conceptualizing a food business. Such like Papa Kim's, owned by a Filipino and a Korean.
The concept of opening a Korean bakery came from nonetheless than the Korean partner which happens to own another Korean bakery brand in his country.  To make it authentic, a master baker from Korea was sought out to handcraft the milieu of breads.

Ang Huling El Bimbo, A Tale of Friendship, Tragedy and Love, Interweaved Through Songs

Kamukha mo si Paraluman
Nung tayo ay bata pa
At ang galing galing mong sumayaw
Mapa boogie man o cha cha
Ngunit ang paborito
Ay ang pagsayaw mo ng El Bimbo
Nakakaindak, nakakaaliw
Nakakatindig balahibo...

Went home a little late last night with my husband, eyes bloodshot, tried as much to subdue my emotions and forbade myself to well up, with the ever present lump on my throat, I rested on the truth that others felt the same as seeing them touch their faces, as if trying to hide the same sentiments.

Poyo, My Daughter's New Favorite Fried Chicken

I don't go to the north of Manila for just any reason, whenever I do, I make sure it must have been important.  Saying that, I dragged my daughter and asked my husband to drive us to Robinson's Galleria.

A long time ago, I used to frequent the area, as I would usually go to Greenhills for my tutoring work and would hang out at the mall for some window shopping.

Perry's Tea Bar and Bakehouse, A Worthy Hangout for Tea-tas and Tea-tos of Manila

Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It may be a small gift to some but not the likeness of me.  It is not the least reason why we should honor as love the dog of our own life.  I've been looking at our dogs that way since we had them and that's how Perry's life is appreciated by his dog parents as well.  Perry was a fawn pug owned by the Cortez', the namesake of the newly-opened tea bar and bakery at McKinley West, Taguig.

Whether you're a luxurious or a practical traveler, you will find Holiday Inn Express as Manila's go-to seasoned hotel which is just right across Terminal 3 Airport and at the corner of every Resort's World Manila happenings.

My husband and I were amongst the few who have tried the newly-renovated units of HIEx Newport Manila. Right after the unveiling, we booked a twin bed and was assigned on the third floor.  Most of the guests were assigned to the upper part of the hotel which still has the old room designs. According to the Sales and marketing people of the said hotel, the renovation has reached the fourth floor and they are still managing to adapt with more exciting changes.

Be a Smart Traveler in Manila with Holiday Inn Express

I tend to be a creature of habit, and even when traveling I inadvertently fall back into regular patterns. The same goes with my need for comfort whenever traveling.  Aside from comfort, there's also practicality where at times comfort and lux can be compromised, that may sometimes be the case unless I get prepared when it comes with the budgeting.  When getting hotel accommodations there are certain standards that has to meet our needs, but it does not mean we have to go to the same hotel brands every time.

Snacking Gets Better and Easier with Jolly Whole Corn Kernels

Did you know that someone with THAT something made my mom-life easier?

More than anything else, the shift from summer vacation to back-to-school is becoming more and more of a challenge.  I thought having bigger kids could give me more laxity, well, to be honest, somehow, a bit.  But Nah! My kids' appetite gets bigger and their taste for food expands every minute, and yeah, they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS hungry.  What's even worse is when they come home from school exhausted and HANGRY (angry because hungry).

You know, if not planned properly, back-to-school season can be stressful. The shift in schedule requires an adjustment from everyone in the household.

How I Got my Girls Hooked on Eating Fish with San Marino Premium Spanish Sardines

What a fishy tale indeed!

I’ve always loved eating fish. Sadly, I can’t say the same thing for my three daughters. When they were young, my kids wouldn’t touch their food if it had fish in it. I remember having to chase them around the house just to get them to eat.

Recipe: Strawberry and Banana Crumble

A couple of days ago, our meal called for  a really quick and easy to prepare stir-fry vegetables, #MEATLESS.  So, while searching for recipes, and checking what was left on my fridge, I stumbled upon an adorable picture of crumble in cups.

It seems yummy and so Instragrammable, so it left me reading the segment and studying how to make the crumble.  The book is entitled Food to Love, btw, written by an Irish chef named Edward Hayden.

World Meat Free Week for Healthy Environment

We all eat. right?!

That's unquestionable and undebatable.

But the question is? Are we eating the way we should be? Are we aware of the impact or the issues of what we put on our plate?

Every day, we munch, grub, consume food multiple times a day, understanding the impact of our food choices (and not just on our waistlines) can be pretty important too, you know.

Realizing this and many other things concerning eating less meat and more vegetables, after being invited to attend a pre-campaign project with Greenpeace Philippines, I decided to get involved somehow as they promote #DIETFORCLIMATE.

DisneyLife by Globe: Bringing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars in One App

Just like many Baby Boomers, and Gen X, I grew up with Disney cartoons.  It's loved and watched by trillions of children worldwide.  It made the world less stressful, fun and creative! In fact, Generations Y and Z also is not an exemption to this craze.  Until now, I'm still mesmerized with the Disney princesses movies and have continued to love animations made outside it, such as Pixar.

Before May ended, Globe made another mark in the fun digital world. Globe Telecom, together with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, introduced DisneyLife: The World of Disney in One App.

When Moms Were Celebrated by Emborg

Because...Moms are amazing!

There are only a few more ways a mother shows her love other than food. After all, a mother is her child's first source of sustenance, and the desire to nourish her kids extends well beyond their childhood. Food is every mom's expression of love, and as long as there is love, then food will be always be a mother's priority.

A Mother's Day Treat from Shopwise

Grocery shopping is life! - MOMs.

I was able to watch the  movie Bad Moms again and this grocery store movie clip really made my day last Mother's Day.

Moms I know you would agree to this: "You know you're a mom if going to the grocery store is a vacation."

Whether it is a typical thing or a vacation unplanned, there is something that makes every mom excited on a trip to grocery stores.  It used to be a bonding time when my kids were still small, but I realized you save a lot more time and money when you go without them.  It's like that time when you needed to buy a few things for the bathroom and ended leaving with bags and bagful of children's snack faves.

Make Your Own “Cheeseventions” with Cheez Whiz and Win P 10,000

In our home, and our kitchen is not excempted, creativity is a huge factor.

I made sure my kids grew up with wild imaginations, and I dared not limit their creativity but taught them self-discipline which includes following instructions from us parents.

Educators believe that it’s important to help develop kids’ creativity? Being creative does not only mean they will be good in doing art, it also helps develop them mentally, socially and emotionally. It is every mom's important role to foster creativity in their child in every way they can.

What can be a better idea to foster creativity than to let them create their everyday snacks?

Cheez Whiz, the number one cheese spread in the country, has been spreading goodness during snack time for over 50 years. What makes it the leading cheese spread in the county is its thickness and amazing cheesy flavor.

Cheez Whiz' thickness is an explosion of flavor that goes with everything. Cheez Whiz is not only for making Creamy Cheesy Sandwiches but for creating different “Cheeseventions” snacks as well.  Kids of all ages can enjoy creating and mixing Cheez Whiz with other ingredients. Its two amazing flavors Original and Pimiento can drive kid’s imagination to create snacks! Make a sandwich tower! Cheez Whiz Mac and Cheese!  Use Cheez Whiz as a dip! The possibilities are endless!

Here’s one example moms and kids can create:

Solar Cheestem:
A delicious snack that’s out of this world!

* Cupcakes
* Cheez Whiz 220g
* Planet toppers

1. Spread thick Cheez Whiz on top of the cupcakes.
2. Lay out the Solar System placemat on the table.
3. Place a cupcake on each planet outline.
4. Stick the toppers into the cupcakes.

To teach moms and kids to create their #CheezWhizCheeseventions, Cheez Whiz recently held a demo and workshop event at SM Megamall Activity Center last May 8, Tuesday.

Leading the pack of moms and kids who attended the event are celebrity mom and daughter Bettinna and Gummy Carlos.

Aside from the stations, Chef DJ Santos also led the Cheese 101 workshop where he demonstrated three (3) fun and easy recipes to make with your favorite Cheez Whiz – Cheesy Pepperoni Tower, Cheesy Cupcake Pops, and Cheesy Burrito.

Two more legs are coming up within the month, the second leg is on May 22, Tuesday, at Glorietta 3, while the last leg will be held on May 28, Monday, at Trinoma. Everyone is invited!

Now, it’s time to create your Cheeseventions and submit them at for a chance to win 10,000 pesos and be featured in the Cheez Whiz (@CheezWhizPH) Facebook page.

AllHome Mother's Day Workshop

Presumptively, just a probability, in my past-life, I could have been an interior designer, that's if the term even existed 100 years ago, or something in that sense.  However, back in the days, when the only art I know is finishing a hard cross-stitch pattern (after having amass almost all the colors of DMC threads), design was a term that never existed in my "mom-thoughts."

Cherry Blossom Feels with Tenya's Sakura Tendon

Japan's sought-after season, the “sakura” or cherry blossom, symbolizes spring time, the season of the year
have been celebrated for centuries in such art forms as haiku, ukiyo-e (woodblock prints), and traditional music. In a culture deeply imbued with Buddhism, the bloom of the beautiful sakura are a natural symbol of the notion of impermanence, a yearly reminder of the transience of all life.

This makes the season at its busiest, what drives thousands of tourists to Japan yearly.

Finding Your Tribe? The Struggle is REAL!

Bumped into this IG account- smallgirlbigglobe, while browsing over my social media accounts. In her newest post she expressed, "The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. the woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before." These are actually Albert Einstein's words as she quoted.

Equivalently, an FB friend of mine announced in his timeline that he's about to UNFOLLOW some accounts, while me on the the other hand was killing my hands and fingers trying to connect to more people.

West Town's Coffee Puts Value in Reliving Coffee Tradition

With the rise of the third wave coffee trend in the country, there is a shining future for our coffee industry, however, while coffee  business is growing, coffee farming locally is not given the proper recognition. Less and less Filipino farmers are into coffee planting or sustaining coffee farms, while the demand is on rise, our supply is insufficient.

Artsy Easter at Buddha Bar

April 1, Easter Sunday, probably one of the days when traveling or taking a cab from our place to Kalayaan Ave., in Makati was a breeze.

It is probably the last Easter kiddie party or event my youngest daughter would have attended.

Buddha Bar was kind enough to invite us to their Easter event where families with kids gathered to savor a buffet spread made only for that day and made sure the place was welcoming enough for the kids.

Making Your Tap Water the Purest and Cleaner with IVO

What if you have a device at home where you can easily have the cleanest, purest water with the turn of the tap?

You might say, "that's impossible," as Manila's water can be so dirty and might have millions of pollutants and toxins in it.

What if I say it's now possible.  Well, it has been since the launching of Torayvino in the market two years ago, many homes have been given safe water from their own faucet.
