Luxurious Villa-living at Espacio Verde Resort, Roxas City

On the third day of our Roxas-Carles exploration, we found respite.

I knew from the start that island-living may not be for my kids (I'm just a reluctant mom, always thinking of what's most comfortable for my babies).  So, I needed to end this four-day tour with an anxiety-free stay, something to prep us from the flight back to Manila and then go back to our normal, too occupied lives.

From my Coron blog
Last June 1, DOT Sec. Wanda Teo said that the Nickelodeon project in Coron, will be pushed through, I'm happy to announce that she have come to her senses realized what was most relevant to our tourism practices.

Sharing with you the press release from the Department of Tourism as of today.

Father's Day Hoopla + Filipino Cuisine at Providore

I think, I did mention in one of my post that Providore is officially our family's favorite comfort food fix place!  With that said, it wasn't hard for me to pick a place on where to eat lunch on a Sunday.  But it's not just an ordinary Sunday, as it was a day to honor my husband (and other fathers), as
the world have observed Father's Day.

20 Years of Serving the Best Seafood by MIDA Food

When selecting either fresh or frozen seafood, there are several things to consider and one of it is to always look for the label.

For instance, some refrigerated seafood may have time/temperature indicators on their packaging, which show if the product has been stored at the proper temperature.  Always check the indicators when they are present and only buy the seafood if the indicator shows that the product is safe to eat.

Traditional Trofie al Pesto Genovese

I've yet to blog about my trip to Genoa (Genova in Italian) and I can't wait to share it to you. Apart from that, I'm already drafting my take on true-blue Italian gastronomy.  But I want to bring it to you a little at a time, just like how Italians enjoy their meal.

So, on our trip to Genoa, the top-most thing that really made a mark on me was their love for their own pesto.

The French Riviera in One Day: Nice, France and Monte Carlo, Monaco

Oh I've been to Nice and the isle of Greece
While I sipped champagne on a yacht
I moved like Harlow in Monte Carlo and showed 'em what I've got

It's not really an LSS kind of thing, LSS as in "last song syndrome."  The song I've Never Been to Me was really special to me, even before I became a lady.  It was popularized by Chrlene back in 1982, but I think I first heard it in 1985 and I was really young then.

Banana Wheatgrass Mini Bundt Cake

I've known wheatgrass juice' significance to health a long time ago, but I've gotten tired of its taste. But from time to time, I make it a point to give kindness to my skin, hair and body by drinking a glass of Easy Phamax Wheatgrass juice.

Wheatgrass Banana Cake with Pistachio Cream

It has been two weeks since my two girls back from busy school life.  And I'm again faced with challenges in the kitchen on what to give my picky back-to-schoolers, which I hope should also be healthy and yummy enough for them.

Are you faced with the same predicament?

#MindaNOW: A United Pop-Up Benefit at Providore, SM Aura

June 12...

What is it to us?

Independence, nationalism, freedom?

At this point, I don't think many people would be in a celebratory mood, as our brothers and sisters, either Muslims or not are in grave threat due to our armed forces battle against the Maute group in Marawi.

Words and photos by Dems Angeles of Dangmusings (Demsangeles.com)

The Filipino cuisine is celebrated in the Queen City of the South through a two-month special culinary fest!

Everytime I hear Chefs Roland “Lau” and Jackie Laudico's name, I know that at the heart of every venture they do is their passion for Filipino food and cooking culture. Their latest collaboration, with the Waterfront Group of Hotel's UNO in Mactan and Lahug, is a festival of flavors.

“UNO's Modern Filipino Taste: A Filipino Feast for All Senses” showcases the Laudico's reinvention of well-loved Filipino and Cebuano dishes.

A Few Reasons Why One Should Visit and Go Back to Venice, Italy

As I was writing this article, my heart missed a beat, and the dream I just woke up with kept on crippling in my thoughts.  In my dream, I was in Italy, alone somewhere, lost, flashes of conversations with Filipinos to get instructions on how to go and meet with my family were vague.

One thing is clear though, if ever I get lost in an island or somewhere, it has to be in Venice.

Venice, the floating city, "the city of mirrors, the city of mirages," "an orange gem resting on a blue glass plate," "Italy's mask," are just some famous words meant to describe this group of small islands.

Art Cafe and Food, Ristorante, Murano, Venice

All I know is that my father is going to take us to Venice and maybe we can also find a good place to eat lunch with my brother-in-law and a new found friend and sister in Christ, Elma.

An earshot of Venice, Murano, a small island, separated by a wide body of water from the main island.  The two-story buildings, all-charming canal houses, quaint streets, and picturesque views caught my attention immediately and made us all excited to bring home evidences of the visit to the island.  Until we reached the middle of the day, nearly famished, with my girls grumbling to have lunch.

Murano, The Glass Island of Venice

Isola de Murano, a gem of an island, literally, is one of the string of man-made islands in Venice, Italy. It's a small island, separated by a wide body of water from the main island of Venice. and it's known as the glass capital of Italy.  When you check the map, it may to be close to each other, but it will take you about 45 minutes to get there. Even though it's small, the Venetian charm will definitely fascinate you.
