Have you heard of this quote " “If you admire somebody, you should go ahead and tell them. People never get the flowers while they can still smell them?”
These words came from Kanye West, actually, and they do make sense, don't you think?
Being generous with good words for others is not only endearing but also refreshing, it refreshes your soul somehow. And I believe every day is an opportunity to smell a flower. So I did!
Together with my three daughters and my husband, we visited a cafe that not surrounds itself with utterly good and healthy food but with loads of beautiful flowers.
The Happy Garden Cafe.
HAPPY + GARDEN, my kind of words...
When I saw a post about this cafe some months ago, I told myself to go there quickly, but again, as always, time did not permit. Though I wasn't ahead of myself in most times, I mk sure to squeeze in some of must-visit places or restaurants for that matter when I'm in the area,
So, as you can see, I'm not the only one happy this time..
So why are we happy about this particular place?
It's a one stop shop for your romantic date essentials,
Flowers, check! Fancy (yet casual) ambiance, check! Garden dining feel, check!
They also welcome non-dating diners, like us a crazy family, as a matter of fact, there was group having a meeting at the far end of the, near the outdoor garden scene.
The resto is adorned with charming elements that depict garden, flowers and cooking.
Potted plants and herbs are strewn around the cafe with books and inspiring messages in frames or in cute items such as the mug above.
The indoor garden, which I dreamed of having at home, was so appealing making every space and corner inside the resto so Pinteres-y or Instagrammable.
Most of all, the food were glorious, which can merit both vegetarians and all-sorts of food-lovers.
Every meal is started with a complimentary bowl of savory and herby popcorn.
These buttered popcorn were specked with dried rosemaries and parsley.
After munching on some of the popcorns while waiting anxiously for our dishes, the first dish came.
|Fabulous P 585|
At first glance, the menu seems fun and well-thought of, since the place serves both healthy and organic. Don't be surprised if the price is a bit high.considering the level of food they serve. The manner is well, fancy, the table, as you come is well laid and neatly set up with good utensils and nice-printed linen napkins.
Their menu is massive, serving a bevvy of breakfast options, with a French Omelet section on it's own. Salad names are whimsical, such as dazzling, gorgeous, luscious, enlightened, except, I don't like seeing "PUKE" on that section.
Take note of the marks C and H, C is for Chef's Recommendation while H is for Healthy.
For our lunch we ordered what seemed to be a complete plate, with carb, protein and minerals in one.
Oh, I'm not describing the mentioned plate, it's what it's called, though it's a good depiction of that dish. Fabulous is a smoked beef brisket glazed with kahlua barbecue sauce and served together with a creamy mashed potato and some colorful steamed veggies.
|Humble P 415|
The Humble bowl is consisted of Korean beef stew, carrots, cucumber, spinach, teriyaki mushroom, bean sprouts, kimchi, Kochujang sauce, all topped in a hefty serving of cauliflower rice.
It's best that you mix everything up, just like bibimbop to spread the sauce and the kimchi, but it's up to you, how you want to enjoy it.
My oldest daughter had her usual hamburger!
She said "Awesome!"
At first, I was thinking she really loved the place and the menu selection. But when se kept on saying it more repeatedly, and the staff wrote it on her paper, I realized, I haven't scrutinized the menu that much. So then we had Awesome.
Gosh! She did had an "awesome" plate.
Look at that awesome burger!
In between soft, milky buns are layers of the good stuff, she likes - lettuce, tomato slices, caramelized onions, bacon, Mozzarella cheese and the really good stuff - all-beef Angus patty.that's really juicy and perfectly seasoned.
Lastly, don't forget to try their highly coveted refresher, Calamansi Passionfruit and Mint Slush. Even though I found it a bit sour, I love it, it has all the vitamin C I needed for the day.
All in all, it was indeed a happy experience for all of us, my husband included. I wish I could have tried their best-selling salad, which has flowers in them and I've heard their desert selections are also worth-trying out for. Will visit again soon.
