Quick-Easy Granola Recipe


This is a fool-proof yummy and healthy, easy to make a snack, for your any sugar binge moments, without feeling a bit guilty.

Granola can easily be likened to trail mix and muesli, having quite the same elements except it has oats and occasionally, flaxseed.  It is usually consumed as a breakfast or snack, however, it's best as a dessert as well top it with cold Greek yogurt and you'll be a happy bee!


I used to spite making this as it can be tough mixing them sometimes after the sweeteners had gotten melted in the oven, but it's totally rewarding especially when you're devouring it already.

In all honesty, this is one of the easiest to do, you just mix them all up, and you can actually mix in everything you want, except the kitchen sink...pardon the jargon (oohh, that rhymes!).

Another great thing about granola is that you can create endless combinations of nuts, dried fruits and other superfoods.


Ingredients:

3 cups Rolled Oats
1 cup Dried Cranberries
1/2 cup Goji Berries
1/2 cup Raisins (Heritage Nuts brand)
Slivered Almonds (Heritge Nuts brand) 

1/2 cup Pure Maple Syrup
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Rice Bran Oil or any natural oil

1/2 teaspoon Salt

Procedure:

In a big bowl mix the first five ingredients, the oats, dried fruits and almonds.  Better use clean hands to mix everything up.

Next we’ll assemble the liquid drizzle. Here I’m using 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 cup of Rice Bran Oil, is my neutral oil of choice, but feel free to use your favorite neutral oil. Canola, vegetable, and even coconut oil are all great options.

Pour wet ingredients over the oats, and mix well. 


Pour the granola onto a rimmed sheet pan and spread it out evenly with a spatula. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring halfway through the baking process. Let the granola cool completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
