The Five Inspiring Finalists of AirAsia's CreateCamp

Create camp is the Philippines' first social media reality show with five participants to be given a chance to be AirAsia's official storyteller.  Chosen participants will be under the mentorship of professional photographers and travelers for rigorous photography, videography, and traveling with a purpose boot camps together with the existing AirAsia Storytellers.

Last August 30, I witnessed the announcement and send off of the five chosen students from Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Iloilo.

CreateCamp is competition which aims to develop and empower young Filipino talents by providing mentorship programs, technical know-how, and support.

The call for participants was made last July with over 500 entries received online.

The You Tube video above is one of those and also was chosen to be amongst the top 5.

Before declaring the 5 entries, all the submitted videos were narrowed down to 50 and were analyzed based on creativity, originality, and quality of storytelling.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador was there to welcome the five and have shown appreciation to the young talents for their talents and skills and AirAsia was there to help them shine.

The five top slots were awarded to Paul Garrido from Mapua Institute of Technology; Raymond Baguilat from the University of Baguio; Beatrice Paragas from University of the Philippines; Angela Cara Durano from De La Salle University in Cebu; and John Paul Saluba from the University of lloilo were the named #AirAsiaCreateCamp finalists.

Aside from traveling to Bohol, Palawan, Tacloban and the Cordilleras, there will be one grand winner who will receive over 1 million pesos worth of prizes composed of AirAsia Philippines flights to domestic and international destinations, Apple Macbook Pro 13, Nikon D5600, fully sponsored three day and two nights stay at Amorita Resort in Bohol and will become an official member of AirAsia Storytellers community.
