Shang Chocolate Wonderland, a Dream Come True for Chocoholics

When a piece of chocolate heaven was made possible here on earth, what do you do?

OMG!  I might not have contained myself and went on panic attack and hoarded all the chocolates I could hold in my tiny arms.

Why the weird question? It's actually real, weird but real.  So fellow chocoholics, let us all rejoice, as Shangri-La Plaza, the metro’s top lifestyle destination, presents Shang Chocolate Wonderland. The week-long celebration kicked off last Easter Sunday, and runs until April 23 at the mall’s East and Main Atria.

Chocolate has been known to trigger happiness so chocolate lovers have the perfect reason to indulge in their favorite treats. Shang Chocolate Wonderland is choc-full of fun activities, the perfect way to celebrate Easter and jumpstart the summer season.

The festival is filled not only with our beloved treats, but also with an abundance of exciting activities in which mall guests can indulge in. Spend summer in the sweetest way possible with family and friends as Shang Chocolate Wonderland opens its doors with one big party featuring stilt walkers, musicians, magicians, jugglers, and dancers for a truly magical experience. Snap and share photos by the chocolate-inspired mall decor and grand chocolate fountain.

Shang’s tenants Candy Corner, Epicurious, Marks and; Spencer, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Rustan’s Supermarket, Villa del Conte and Wicked, including the prestigious Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts (EDSA Shangri-La Manila, Makati Shangri-La and Shangri-La at the Fort) as well as international brands Toblerone, Cadbury and Kinder Chocolate Cereals are participating in the fair.

Local chocolate enterprises and chocolatiers are also represented, such as the Philippines’ own Theo & Philo, Malagos Chocolates, Coco Dolce, Hiraya Chocolates, Cacao de Davao, Chocoliz, Top Chefs, ChocoATBP., Cocoa Monster, Machiavelli and Manila Chocolatier, NIJI Desserts, Choco-Liquor Cakes by Maricar Reyes-Poon, BiteSize PH, Truffles by K, Hungry Pac, Agueda Manila, Raneese PB Cups, TsokoFino, Ginto Premium Chocolates, Shorts Gourmet and CMBV Confectionaries.

The rest of the week will be full of games and special attractions, free sampling of chocolate confections, demos and workshops on chocolate making, choco decorations, and special promotions. Join the Workshops on April 22 with the Chocolate Praline Making Demo by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts at 3:30 pm; Truffle Making Workshop by Wicked at 5:00 pm; Chocolate Tasting Workshop by Hiraya Chocolates at 6:00 pm; And on April 23 Chocolate Praline Making Demo by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts at 3:30 pm and Matcha Chocolate Making Workshop by Top Chefs at 5:00 pm.

Shangri-La Plaza also believes that the happiness a delectable treat like chocolate brings is meant to be shared.  What better way to share the joy of this grand chocolate festival than by reaching out to children in the community. Together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Shang treated children from 4PEACE Mandaluyong Chapter with a special lunch, goodies, plus a fun and delicious brownie decorating workshop.

Look forward to discovering and sharing happiness by heading over to Shangri-La Plaza on April 16 to 23 to discover for the Shang Choco Wonderland.
