I've promised myself to be good to my self, to live a healthy lifestyle, to give up on stressful factors of life and to surrender all to my God. 


I still succumb to poison.


I'm not really talking about taking in poisons but I metaphorically call some of my habits and passion as poison, like blogging and social media. LOL...

And, to add to this, I found a place where I can escape from the harsh effects of the so called adult life.

POISON Coffee and Doughnuts.


If you love freshly-made doughnuts that are not commercially prepared and premium single-origin coffee, this is your hangout.

Blueberry Glaze (P 50)

When you're tired of eating too many sugars and the usual donut flavors, you might want to to revert to something more interesting, more filling and less of the jolt tons of sugar would give you.

How about a denser doughnut base and naturally flavored fillings and glaze, that will leave you wanting more but feeling less guilty.  A doughnut that's not proofed to much hence, less puffiness due to the leavening process.

How about a hybrid doughnut of sourdough and brioche?  Huh? Interesting, yeah?

Their doughnut is a genius product when you combine both techniques used in making the dough for brioche and sourdough.  When a dough is enriched with butter and eggs, having a cake-like texture when compared to some other breads, that's brioche bread. 

On the other hand, a sourdough is known for its characteristic flavor ranging from mild to strong, with a chewy texture, and crispy-baked crust. From a health standpoint, it is above a notch compared to standard breads.

Hence, when you combine the two procedure to make up a doughnut, what you may have is a buttery, cake-like texture that's a bit airy and slightly chewy, quite a mouth-feel really.  Nothing like any other doughnuts you might have, hhhmmm, well, a little like Krispy Kreme but without the heart-wrenching sweetness.

A cup of good Joe and Poison doughnut is enough for me to forget some issues I'm overwhelmed with.  But in all honesty, I would succumb to an everyday pairing of these.

All because, Poison have many uniquely-crafted lovelies.

Located at a clandestine alley for the creatives, Poison is at the end of Karrivin Alley the same location of Hydra Design Group.  Place is a bit odd as it is dark as most of the lights are coming  from the neon lights on the bar and some dimly lit LEDs strung from above.

Come early as the dougnuts usually are sold right away.  Unlike other restaurants and cafe in the Karrivin, they're the only ones open from 10 am to 8 PM even on Mondays as most of the restos are closed on Mondays.
