Patio Filipino:The Heart of Batangas Dining

Felizardo and Manlapaz Family
All ready for our stomach to battle out one tremendous lunch!
For me, seeing the food served one by one, made me anxious.  I didn't know which one to try first.
After a fun-packed full of rigorous  activities prepared by AMANSINAYA RESORTS, we were all famished.   What's even more amazing was we had our lunch at the pool side since there was a seminar inside the patio.

Patio Filipino is situated on the mountain of Hacienda Cascada, where it holds also, the Amansinaya Mountain Resort and the Pugad Lawin Adventure Camp.
So here we go with our rural gustatory.  Adventure undone...
CRISPY TAWILIS DE LAGOS
Marinated tawilis only seen in Taal lake made crisp until tender.   This is what Batanguenos always have on their plate.   As said, Tawilis are fish that can only be found at Taal lake.
 PATIO BILAO
Combination of inihaw na liempo, inihaw na pusit, adobong manok, gintaang sitaw at kalbasa  with hipon, pritong tilapia at tawilis, itlog na pula, ensaladang talong, manggang hilaw with las haciendas bagoong
Fried Chicken.
This crispy chicken pieces made my kids' day.   The all-time fave was savory, seasoned just enough to have our kids full to their tummies, they actually didn't ask for catsup or gravy like they normally do to enhance any fried dish.
PINAPUTOK NA PLA PLA
 TORTANG TALONG SA CRABMEAT
 SISIG
I found all the food satisfying except for the sisig.   My daughter, Danielle, knows an honest-to-goodness Sisig.   You can bring her to an expensive restaurant or a whole in the wall cafes and let her try their sisig, she can tell which is which, and which is to be rated.  Somehow  their Sisig didn't meet up to our kids expectation.   Pampanga's original Sisig is still to beat.
 SINIGANG NA BABOY SA SAMPALOC
Another disappointment, well not that much though.   We initially ordered for HACIENDA  MONTANA DE BULALO, yet ended up with Sinigang.   Bulalo is said to be the specialty of any side of Batangas.   And my husband has been boasting of original Batangas Bulalo to be the best.   My kids love Bulalo, that's one other thing.   Give them the "sabaw" and that would be enough for them and definitely a kid-quieter.
PINASAGITSIT NA BLUE MARLIN WITH PATIO SWEET CHILI SAUCE
Sounds intriguing? Well it is!
A slice of  blue marlin, placed on a sizzling plate and smothered with caramelized chili sauce.  The sweet perfectly mixed with not so spicy sauce and the tender meat of blue marlin is really a bel piatto di pesce.
 BAGOONG RICE
CRAB RICE
  HOME-MADE SORBETES (Ice Cream)
To sum up our mid-noon indulgence, I say it was autentico cibo e Batangueno!
Truly an authentic Batangueno food with full pleasure of enjoying the mountain views of Laurel, Batangas.   Another proof of God's magnificence in our lives!

  1. OMG! It's a feast indeed! Everything looks so good, I'd go for the Sinigang na Baboy first.
