Dying to Feature: Balut

Really laughed my heart out when I watched this, days ago when my nephew directed us to this site in YouTube.   As I was browsing through Noemi Lardizabal-Dado's site,  Pinoy Dining, I came upon the name Mikey Bustos, I laughed even harder!   This Filipino-Canadian guy has videos posted in You Tube.   Most of the videos are about the Filipino culture  described in an all- Filipino amusing way.   At first I didn't recognize the name, but then my kids told me that would be the same guy we were watching so  hilariously.
The blog is supposed to be about "Balut," (egg) is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled alive and eaten in the shell (Wikipedia).
I am not a picky eater, I try to eat everything served to me as long as it doesn't smell and looks icky.
The video posted above, tells a lot about balut so I don't need to dive in deeper.   My family loves balut, even penoy (is an earlier stage version of  balut, meaning no chick yet), and yes, even me, except I do not eat the chick part!   I don't find it disgusting, I just can't take the texture of it in my tongue and as it slides down my throat.
I hope you found the video amazing as I did, for a guy who lived in Canada, being a Filipino is not  bad factor as most Filipinos abroad feel.   He is actually proud to be Pinoy!  I hope we can also be as proud as he is,  for we live and breathe Filipino lifestyle here in our own land.   And Philippine cuisine is making great marks in the world!   Kudos to you, Mikey Bustos, Michael John Hedan ? Pestanio Bustos, sorry about that I just couldn't get his complete name right.   "Super promise forever exponential to infinity and beyond belief my goodness!"   HaHaHa!
