Are You an Immuvit Fearless Challenger?

Last Tuesday, the presscon for the Immuvit Fearless Challenge Trail Run commenced at Paul Calvin's Deli over a sumptuous lunch.   It was such a blessing to be part of the crowd though I only run for food (LOL).   But it is quite observable that a lot of Filipinos had started to engage in activities such as running.   Over a crowd of running bloggers, a short discussion by Coach Jim Saret about how to defy aging by adding not just food supplements to our daily diet but lots of exercise.   It has something to do with the somatopause age.   Researchers show that the somatopause is related directly to the decline of growth hormone (a natural substance produced by the body) during aging.    Most people want to feel good, lose weight, and restore their energy and appearance to youthful levels, as well as desiring a lean, muscular, sprinter's physique. You’ll be happy to know that even at age 50 and above, that's what increasing growth hormone naturally can do if you follow the right type of fitness program.
On a more scientific note, what happens to cause the somatopause? The more you know about it, the better off you’ll be. First, we’ll look at the specific hormone in the body (lack thereof) that is responsible, Somatotropin, the human growth hormone.
Here is something that might give us that boost to regenerate vitality through some series of running events brought to us by Immuvit and the event partners.

On August 26, 2012, the La Mesa Nature Reserve will witness the gathering of running enthusiasts putting their love for the sport to the ultimate test.  The first of Immuvit’s three-part series is dubbed as “No Surrender” and is set to excite participants with the addition of different variations to the usual running events.
Ms. Valerie Tan-Sison, Brand Manager of Pascual Consumer Healthcare Corp. reaffirms that the Immuvit Series: Fearless Challenge Trail Run 2012 is holding true to the brand’s commitment of encouraging everyone to live a healthy lifestyle. “We have always been an advocate of living an active lifestyle to help reach one’s optimum health and slow down the effects of aging.  That’s why we were so excited when Coach Jim Saret conceptualized for Immuvit this first Obstacle Trail Run ever organized in the country. Through this race, which is inspired by the Spartan and Tough Mudder Races in the States, Immuvit aims to offer the growing running community a new and totally fun experience. We are hoping to create that mindset of helping others help themselves reach their goals,” she shared.

Immuvit brand ambassador and US-educated sports-medicine expert, and athletic-training specialist Coach Jim Saret supports this commitment. His years of experience have proven the value of taking a holistic approach towards health.  “Stress contributes heavily to how fast a person ages.  It can affect an individual even more if their body is physically weak and have low energy levels,” he cautions. “Regular exercise, adequate nutrition and a good multivitamin supplement like Immuvit can help everyone manage or even eliminate everyday stress,” he explains.  He further added that people with more energy are able to do more things, regardless of their age.

Under the watch of Without Limits’ Ian Alacar and Coach Joseph Pagulayan, Immuvit wishes to create a new kind of run for the participants. “We hope to foster that spirit of camaraderie wherein the runners deviate from looking at this event as a race. This challenge is not about clocking in your best time, but more importantly helping and encouraging your co-participants to finish the race,” Coach Pagulayan explained.

Participants can opt to join the event for either its 5k or 10k challenges with registration fees of Php 600.00 and Php 800.00, respectively.  Each participant will get their kits that will include a singlet, race bib, and barcode.  Plus, every finisher will get to bring home a loot bag, finisher’s medal and a certificate.  At the end of the race, two winners for each category – one female and one male – who will have the best time will each bring home Php 10,000 cash prize and a winner trophy for 10k category winner and Php 5,000 and a cup trophy for the 5k category winner.

Interested participants may register online here or visit Chris Sports Mall of Asia, Chris Sports Glorietta 3, Chris Sports SM Manila, Chris Sports SM North ANNEX, and Fitness and Athletics at 9th Ave. corner Bonifacio High Street. Registration starts on August 10, 2012 and will close on August 23, 2012.

For added convenience, shuttle buses will be provided to bring participants from Quezon City Hall to the event venue, and transport them back after the event.  First bus leaves at 4:00 AM. Also, for safety purposes, all participants are requested to bring their own whistle.

The Immuvit Series: Fearless Challenge Trail Run 2012 was made possible with the participation of Chris Sports.
Leg 2 “No Excuses”, a Immuvit Metafit Challenge by Coach Jim Saret, will be held on September 15 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, while Leg 3 “No Turning Back” will be on October 6 in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

  1. Now here's another reason why I should continue with my workout routines and exercises, and meal plan (another reason that hinders me from making your Nutella Cream Cake, hehehe...).

I'm also planning to participate in a marathon next year. Any marathon, as long as it is a marathon. First time for me. My friends cannot believe it. They actually said that they will believe it once I'm already running the race.
