“I LOVE AUSSIE LAMB FEST" Kicked-off with a Caravan and Will Last Until September 15, 2025

Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) brings the taste of Aussie Lamb to top restaurants.

To celebrate and showcase the many delights of Aussie Lamb, the I Love Aussie Lamb Fest officially launches in Metro Manila with a three-day caravan with media and food influencers. I was one of the blessed to have graced the first day, and now I have become a "lamb-convert."

Building on the success of the Lambassador Program led by Chef Roby Goco-the country's first Lambassador-the festival now widens its reach by partnering with more of the Philippines' top restaurants.

Read about that event here:

Philippines' First Lambassador Champions Everyday Pinoy-Inspired Lamb Dishes

This growth reflects how Aussie Lamb is increasingly embraced by Filipino chefs and diners alike, who are discovering its premium quality, distinct flavor, and remarkable versatility.

Have you ever had lamb, btw? I have probably tried it a couple of times based on food reviews, but it has never been my go-to meat preference when dining out. Hence, this event was an eye-opener to me. There had been commendable restaurants that have been serving it all along, but we Filipinos have yet to discover what other countries like Australia have been enjoying as part of their staple family meal.

What can this "Fest" offer to dining enthusiasts?

This year's celebration showcases the diverse aspects of Filipino dining culture.

Participating restaurants represent a wide spectrum of concepts- from the dining

establishments to family-style restaurants, casual dining favorites, and even a burger joint united in highlighting how Aussie Lamb can be adapted across cuisines, formats, and occasions.

The 15 Awe-inspiring Restaurants

Diners can now enjoy inspired Aussie Lamb creations at l am Angus, Chesa Bianca, Cyma, Discovery Primea, Souv, Dr. Wine, Mamacita, Bondi & Bourke, Brothers Burger, Blackbird, Elaia, Hossein's, Persia Grill, People's Palace, and Sala.

Why I am now in love with this idea?

Australian lamb is winning over Filipino chefs and diners with its premium quality, distinct flavour, and incredible versatility. Raised on open pastures and nourished on natural grass, Aussie Lamb is naturally rich in protein, vitamins, and essential nutrients, making it a wholesome and nutritious choice. With a wide variety of cuts now available in the Philippines, Aussie Lamb caters to both the foodservice industry and home cooks, making it easier than ever to prepare dishes that suit every cooking style and dining occasion.

Whether grilled, roasted, stewed, or braised, it lends itself perfectly to Filipino favorites like kaldereta, adobo, and sinigang, as well as international dishes such as Mediterranean roasts, Middle Eastern kebabs, and Asian stir-fries.

"Aussie Lamb has always been about premium quality, sustainability, and flavor that inspires chefs and delights diners. We're delighted to see more of the Philippines' leading restaurants-from fine dining to casual eateries-embracing Aussie Lamb and showcasing its versatility in truly innovative ways," shared Luisa Rust, Australian Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner during the kick-off event for the festival.

This event demonstrates how lamb is becoming a favorite among Filipinos. With more restaurants putting it on their menus and more diners discovering its natural goodness, nutritional benefits, and world-class quality, Aussie Lamb continues to secure a stronger place on Filipino tables.

The first three restaurants I have tried from the list:

Flame Restaurant, Discovery Primea

Our first stop was at the lavish resto that sits atop the 16th floor of Discovery Primea with a 360 degree view of Ayala, Makati.

Of course, they made us try their Australian Lamb Shank Biryani. I love how meticulously it was prepared and served en croute. The lamb biryani was covered with a crispy puff pastry and was to be enjoyed with mango chutney and tomato onion relish.

We also had their famous Jasper Grilled Australian Lamb Chops. It was top-notch experience as the lamb was juicy and tender, and it came perfectly with a gravy of brandy.

Hossein's Restaurant | Persian, Arabian, Indian Cuisine

Roasted Lamb Ribs

Seasoned food writers have known @hosseins.ph to be amongst the iconic Middle Eastern restaurant to have caught the hearts of many. Since its conception in the late 80's, it had established itself as authentic Persian, Mediterranean Arabian and Indian; and a go-to place for kebabs, Biryani and of course lambs. This was where we had our second stop for the #iLoveAussieLambs Fest caravan. The restaurant still serves proper Persian ambiance, colorful and replete with tales from Chef Hossein's family up to the guests. They have been one of the consumer of @aussiebeefandlambph's lambs! Hence, it was just befitting a visit here and enjoy some of their crowd-favorites:

Lamb Chops and Roasted Lamb Ribs served with the best gravy I had by far, all savored with Saffron Rice and cucumber salad.

Blackbird By Nielson

Last stop at @BlackbirdbyNielson, an iconic establishment that always lives up to its gourmet standards. And how can they not have lamb dishes... Here are two on their menu that I highly suggest you get: Mussaman Lamb Shank, served with pineapple cucumber relish and jasmine rice) Lamb Koftas, the mini version of koftas shaped like a ball, with roasted pepper, walnut, and pomegranate molasses.
