New Premium Filipino Dishes at Romulo Cafe

Palates were satisfied beyond expectation as Romulo Café unveiled its finest Filipino dishes on October 10, Wednesday, at 148 Jupiter St. corner Comet St., Bel-Air, Makati City.

Following the success of the Happy Hour event held last year, Romulo Café once again set the dining tables on fire to introduce by far the best of what they were keeping in their culinary closet.

Appetizers

Three Chef’s Choice appetizers are served to prepare everyone for bigger things coming. First is the Crispy Squid, a chili-honey-garlic-glazed, deep-fried squid; Chorizo Empanada, a special homemade chorizo in a pastry; and Tinapa Roll, a shredded smoked fish with red egg and tomatoes in a lumpia wrapper. These trio are more than enough to crave for the next big dish - salad.

Salad

This is one of the courses every diner looks forward to. Romulo Café already has its famous Paco Salad, but this time, it is introduced with a twist. Enjoy the improved fern fiddle salad with cherry tomatoes, red egg and scallions, topped with lechon kawali bits and served with a special calamansi vinaigrette dressing. With several flavors ready to burst all at once, be ready for a roller-coaster dish ride.

Pasta

With numerous pasta dishes Romulo Café serves, there will always be that one worth coming back for - Shrimp Pasta with Aligue Sauce. Enjoy this spaghettini with sauted shrimp in garlic and olive oil in a creamy Aligue (crad roe) sauce. With its flavors matched and blended to perfection, this is the best food to serve before the main course.

US Angus Beef Steak Tagalog

Main Course

Above all the exceptional food Romulo Café serves, there are five dishes everyone must not miss out. Savor a roasted chicken stuffed with ground pork, raisins, chorizo, and peas with Lola Virginia’s Chicken Relleno.

Following roasted chicken is the new dish Pesang Apahap, an apahap (Filipino seabass) steamed in a ginger stew with bok choy and served with miso paste on the side. Proceed now in eating a young jackfruit simmered in coconut milk with Ginataang Langka.

Halfway through, taste the ever-delicious US Angus Beef Steak Tagalog, thinly sliced US Angus Ribeye cooked in soy sauce and calamansi topped with onion rings and best served with the special pandan rice. Lastly, a good feast will not be possible without a Pinoy food every Juan grew up eating. Now that the Christmas season is fast-approaching, this is the perfect time to give a traditional Filipino cuisine a reborn. Listen to the crackling sound of the crispiest Cochinillo, a roasted suckling pig served with Romulo Café’s special lechon sauce. Like what most Filipinos say, “Save the best for last.”

Desserts

Concluding the presentation are the best-tasting desserts Romulo Café offers. Relive summer with Mango Pavlova, a meringue-based dessert covered with cream filled with mango and topped with strawberries, kiwi, and mango. Lastly, taste a part of Filipino food culture with Suman sa Latik, a fried sticky rice in a shot glass served with muscovado and coconut milk sauce.

With mouth-watering, fresh and tempting food line-up from appetizers to desserts, Romulo Café is setting the bar high in satisfying everyone’s craving for good food and good talk.

  1. I was diagnosed 2 years ago at age 63. Symptoms were tremor in right leg, loss of handwriting ability, and soft voice. I also have difficulty rising from a seated position and have balance issues. I started out taking only Azilect, then Mirapex, and 6 months ago Sinemet. Several months ago I started falling frequently, hence the reason for Sinemet. I tried every shots available but nothing worked.
