It’s Love at First Bite at Shang’s dining destinations

The month when we think mostly about love.  Just like what Henry Miller said, "The one thing we can never get enough of is love. And the one thing we never give enough is love."

As the air of Valentine's celebration draws near, it's never too early to think of how we can give love and more.

Shangri La Mall had thought through to help us.  What better way to give love, love, that sharing a good meal, as this is said to be the best way to bond with people. Allow the delicious food offerings of several restaurants of the mall entice you to gather and think of love.

This Valentine’s season, the metro’s premier lifestyle destination, Shangri-La Plaza is the perfect place to celebrate and find the perfect place for you to enjoy dining out with the special people in your life.

I ended January having an excursion and an appetite to boot as I went around the mall sans the shopping but with a whole lot of food.  Let me give you some recommendations.

Wobbly Pan (Spanish)

Level 1 immediately offers you with a line up of cafes and one I can recommend over at the Main Wing is Wobbly Pan.

The seemingly new (to me) resto-bar is the ideal spot to dote on a paring of tapas and drinks.

The modern Spanish fare served includes burgers, paella, Callos, and Iberian Chicken. Grab a few cocktails such as the Blueberry Mojito or the Salted Caramel Shake that’s spiked with tequila and vodka. Wines are also available and perfect for pairing with their signature tapas—Pulpo la Gallega which is sizzling octopus with potatoes and cheese, Salpicao, and Gambas.

La Creperie (French)

When your loved one craves for French food, the mall is still the best place to be.

And for a more casual option than a fine dining bistro, take Cafe La Creperie, located at 2nd Level of the Main Wing.

Let not it's openness overawe you, La Creperie has a quaint and homey feel that’s perfect for an intimate get together with your friends or family.

The best Onion Soup ever

More than just the light fare of crepes and galettes, the café also serves hearty pasta dishes and classic French fare such as Coq au Vin (chicken in red wine sauce). Don’t miss out on the amazing, Angelina’s, their rich and creamy Parisian-style hot chocolate that’s hard to forget.

Sweet Inspirations (Mongolian Buffet)

Satiate hunger at Sweet Inspirations, located at Level 5 of the Main Wing.

From just the long-standing establishment along Katipunan that’s become a favorite of families, Sweet Inspirations has expanded to Shang where hearty meals and delectable pastries abound.

The restaurant serves home-cooked Filipino dishes and delicious cakes and baked goods, but they’re most famous for their Mongolian buffet.

Oppa! Chicken (Korean Chicken)

Get together with friends over the classic combination of chicken and beer. Oppa! Chicken at Level 6, Main Wing is the perfect place to try the unique Korean experience of enjoying a cold glass of beer with deliciously crisp fried chicken.

Choose from soy garlic, sweet and spicy, or the very spicy Atomic Bomb, among the many flavors available. There are fries, rice, or noodles to go as your sides too.

PaperMoon (Japanese Dessert)

Shang’s 3rd Level of the Main Wing is where you can have a taste of one of Tokyo’s finest and best desserts

Paper Moon Café is popular for their mille crepe or crepe cakes that are light and airy with delicious, creamy filling. They come in different flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry, Matcha, Ube, and more. But they also serve other specialty cakes and pastries, as well as savory dishes and beverages.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf/ 26th St. Bistro (Coffee)

For a quick coffee date or a cup of tea after a big meal, head over to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at the Level 1 of the Main Wing. The chain café’s Shang branch offers al fresco seating to enjoy the cool February breeze while bonding over desserts and drinks with friends, family, or someone special.

Spend the special day at the perfect place to indulge and bond. Get that love-filled first bite or more at the Shang.
