The Only Party the Family Hosted

With the help of our Lord Jesus and our dear friends, we were able to host an event my daughter would really treasure.   Our family was able to overcome a painful ordeal and with that we were able to realize what life has yet to offer.   My daughter who turned 7 last May 5 was so expectant of the outcome of the party.   Yes she really prayed hard for this!  And the Lord was so gracious enough for answering her birthday wish.   More than a year ago she  was diagnosed of DKA or Diabetes Ketoacidosis.  Is an acute, major, life-threatening complication of diabetes. DKA mainly occurs in patients with type 1 diabetes.  And we never knew she has it till then, being kept in the ICU for more than three days.
Since then she have been taking insulin shots, twice a day.
But the miracle we see now is that in spite of her condition she grows more intelligent, beautiful and faithful to the Lord.   As we await for the total healing of our daughter the Lord continues to heal every family member with all the  dark and painful past.   We just live each day at a time and live every blessed day as it is!
The day, May 7, 2011 were we celebrate God's fullness in miraculous and loving ways not only in our daughter's situation but more so for the whole family and the friends and relatives who have been on our side through the tough times.

Too Late for Lactation

It was a rainy Saturday, though I was still not stopped by the peculiar weather the Philippines has.   After touring Mercato Centrale for the SMC Weekend Market Roadshow with Chef Ed Quimson, I headed on to NBC Tent Mommy Diaries, a Lifestyle and Wellness Expo for Mothers.
The event was indeed an interesting one, I was invited by a friend, whom I was supposed to meet at the said venue for some health know-how and mommy-pampering, but far more have I encountered.
I will give you more of the exciting details on my other site, mommygonebloggin.wordpress.com.  I hope you do visit it and be sure to discover new ideas, products and people.

Heaven-sent Baking Supply Store (Closed)

h & j Baker's Choice

My daughter and I met with a new friend last Thursday, and as we were on our way to Cash and Carry, Makati, to have a snack we saw a small store.   Quite intrigued by the name of the store, we tried to get near.  Seeing known baking suppliers, such as Wilton, Kitchen Aid etc., made it more interesting.   So we barged in.   To my surprise a lot of the things I need to make the cupcakes for my daughter's 7th Birthday party were there.   Even the ones I need to buy at Gourdo's to add a more personalized and themed touch to the cuppies.   With that I won't be spending much on gas and time.
The staff was welcoming and kind enough to help us breeze through the things I was looking for.

What's more is that they offered a promo, and gave me a discounts and with that I will definitely go
back there for my baking needs.   I'm used to buying stuffs at Chocolate Lovers at P. Tuazon in Quezon City.  To think that I live here in Pasay, it is such a labor going to and fro.   A nearer store is at Baker's Depot at WalterMart, Pasong Tamo.   But most of the time their supply is not comprehensive.   A lot of times, Divisoria was referred but it is still far and we can't bear the traffic.

They have all the baking needs, from ingredients to materials and they even conduct classes.

"Motherhood brings as much joy as ever, but it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow too. We owe our lives and success to our mother's.   All over the world it is celebrated, however obscure the  date is or when and how the celebration began, what trully matter is we took 1 day in the 365 calendar days and give it mom.
