YOUniversity Suites and L.A. Village: Where Hip and Heritage Convene

Who would have thought that an old building along Recto was made anew and given a hip and modern vibe?

What happened to be an apartment just a shell for a long time with nothing but a decaying facade and rubbles in an open lot. This building known as Laperal Apartments, built in 1946, had been a witness to the rise of the post-war era and the glorious days of Manila, alongside many famous buildings and movie houses in Azcarraga (now known as C.M. Recto Avenue) and Avenida streets.

The four-story Laperal Apartments had gotten a make-over with the architects involved had recommended to adaptively reuse the facade, and design an interior that blends with its original architecture, but that fits the urban lifestyle of today.  In a nutshell, it's art deco structure meets industrial interiors.

Now, it had been thoughtfully restored and transformed into affordable dormitory rooms and is referred to as YOUniversity Suites. Students in the university belt area can now rejoice with the opening of YOUnivesity Suites with 85 semi-furnished units ready to be lived in and it is just a few steps away from University of the East and San Sebastian College.

YOUniversity Suites...The Dorm

You won't recognize the building as an old one as each room has a high ceiling, ranging from 11 to 27 square meters of space and comes with sturdy bunk beds, spacious dining areas, locker storage, mini kitchen with granite countertop and has its own bath.
