Ways to Knock Off Life's Bleak Moments

So I woke up feeling the sunlight bright on my face, almost blinded my eyes as they were still puffy and sensitive from crying last night.  Avoiding to wake my hubby up even though it's already way past 8 in the morning, I closed my eyes again, not minding the time nor my dog looking at me.

Then he moved, turned his face on me and hugged me, then I cried and said softly "nalulungkot ako" (I feel sad).  He could hardly understand me murmuring those words as I could hardly speak them myself as I burst into tears.

OMG! It's Kenny Rogers Roasters' OMG Unfried Fried Chicken!

When asked about my kids' ultimate comfort food, they will undoubtedly shout "fried chicken." They could not resist something that's savory specially when cooked perfectly.  Think of crispy skin that crumbles and crunches with every bite, the juicy, wonderfully tender meat paired with a spoonful of soft, fluffy steamed rice...

Though I would always give in whenever they would ask for it (like almost every other day) I vex on the thought of it as unhealthy, considering how it's cooked as they try to achieve that extra crunch  as often looked for by any fried chicken lovers.  If you still haven't known yet, it's deeply fried in liters upon liters of oil, with the kind of cooking oil unbeknownst to us.

An Outdoor Affair at The Gourmand Market by nawwTy's kitchen

I'm hooked!  I mean totally...and I'm glad...

So what if I get hooked on good food, after all a life spent well is a life spent with good food and lots of love.

Eat Well, Live Well! - The Gourmand Market.

Like Trish Panlilio, alongside business partners Dara David Roa and Dong Ronquillo, we lived by that mantra. Foodies and gourmands have joined the bandwagon and we will be assembling for the nth time at Bonifacio High Street Central to get our cravings satiated for home-grown grubs and hard to find artisan kitchen staples.

It was an honor to check out some featured food products and dishes at the media preview happened last week at Dasmarinas Village.

Their main agenda is to FEAST!  Where else but at the infamous Vikings.

Irresistible Mornings with McDonald's Double Choco Crumble Hotcakes Despite Chaos

How was your morning today?

Mine was a little sloppy...

Life, my thoughts, my hair, handwriting,  I feel like organized chaos at the present moment.  It's like
taking two steps forward and ten back.

7107 Culture + Cuisine, Now Dishes-out Glocal

I'm amazed with the ever growing uniqueness that shape our restaurant industry to what can be tomorrow's trend.  With the terms such as fusion, deconstructed, hybrid, snout-to-tail and molecular, pertaining to modern takes on food, gourmand and foodies alike can get more excited hopping from one restaurant to another.

Bring Back Home-cooked Meals with Knorr #LutongNanay + Knorr Siigang sa Pakwan Recipe

I grew up eating healthy home-cooked meals which my mother and on some occasions my father would prepare.  Time came that they had to leave me and my siblings to work abroad.  I remember, in one of their letters to me, my father mentioned how much he missed sipping the hot soup from Sinigang and he wished to fly back to Manila from Saudi Arabia and share the dish we'd regularly have which my grandma would cook for us.

The Makings of a Memorable Filipino Fusion Dinner at Neils Kitchen

There goes a saying that "Good food is all the sweeter when shared with good friends."

It may be about the ambiance, the cuisine served on certain restaurant but mostly it's all about the company you share your meal with.  Thus, when my friend Julie and I got together at the Tom's #OneDayWithoutShoes event, I made sure to share a restaurant worthy of the celebration of our friendship.

Maybank Platinum MasterCard: My New Travel Companion That Fits Perfect in my Pocket

The best travel experience that had to be beaten yet is our family's visit to Milan, Italy. But that was 12 years ago, if I haven't lost my counting skills though.  We only have two kids then and they were still cute.  My heart aches every time I think about it not only because I want to go back but I want to kiss and hug my parents, my siblings and my cutie pie nieces, who sings perfect cute rhymes in Italian.

But back then, we only carried one kind of credit card.  It was considered international alright but we didn't care enough to use it, thinking we might be charged with higher interest using it abroad.  Plus we couldn't really see some good in using it rather than for emergency cases.  Thus, we needed to bring cash along with us which was a bit uncomfortable and add to that the inconvenience of not carrying enough Euros and that we needed to find an establishment to exchange it with.

Family Bonding Made More Fun in Pagudpud

My brother just came to visit us with his family from Milan early this month and as planned we all drove together up north with our family and one of his best friend and his family.

Traveling with family is priceless.  I did some travels without my family and though I couldn't say it wasn't spectacular but to say the least it wasn't as precious as traveling with my forever best friends
and travel companions - my family.
