Heaven's Barbecue: Heavenly Goodness in a Stick

Have you ever been to Malugay Street of Makati?
If there is Jupiter St,; Kapitolyo, Pasig; Tomas Morato and Maginhawa of Quezon City, there is and has been a street in Makati which is unassumingly a pathway to casual and cheapskate's food trip.   I've yet compile the restaurants I have already reviewed on this street, btw.  At the end, nearing the railway is the Collective, where a number of restaurants in different cuisines gather up on a very kitschy and artsy one story building and have been a tambayan (hang-out)  for Manila' artists and yuppies.  On the other end however is the is an old timer in the street.   It is where Traditional barbeques are enjoyed simply because they are just satisfyingly yummy.

I am referring to Heaven’s Barbeque.
Being in the market for almost eight years, many have spoken of their menu offerings.  Who knows, they might  have even started out with camping cook stoves, while experimenting with different sauces to perfect their barbeques.   Still a booming business, they have set up several branches already and have sold franchises all over Manila.

I was able to check out the first branch of their eight branches, which is at Malugay St. cor. Buendia Ave. in Makati.  It caters to professionals working in the surrounding skyscrapers, students from nearby schools and even the posh subdivisions around the city. You'll be surprised on how they are operating with varying business models like Full Line Store, Express Take Out Counter, Kiosk, Carts for birthday parties or food fairs. They take pride in the fact that they only use high-quality and choice-meat, all naturally-flavored and prepared fresh everyday. That could be one reason why Heaven’s Barbeque had been proclaimed Best Barbeque by Food Magazine, first in May 2009 and once again in May 2013, besting out other barbeques available in Metro Manila.

You can actually see the difference (on the photo) from other food joints serving this delectable pork nibs on sticks.  See how succulent and juicy-looking they are?  With occasional charring you can simply put it that the meat might be very done on the outside but raw on the inside.  But let me assure you that it is cooked evenly through.  I have been constantly frank about my stand on eating pure meat, but how is it that on an afternoon, I was able to consume a couple of numbers of  BBQ Sticks, with some grilled chicken, pancit and what the heck, rice.
This is Heaven's Paella Style - a big platter for 3 to 4 people, which has two chicken wings, four BBQ Sticks, Liempo and Porkchop atop Paella-flavored rice was such a no-frills, honest dish.   Best for barkada blow-out, you can actually call them and have it delivered right at your doorstep.
If you love chicken barbeques, you will definitely fall for their boneless chicken barbecue.  According to my husband, who had his way through college by helping his mom sell barbeques in different stalls, chicken is the trickiest to deal with when grilling.  Since it is grilled thicker and most of the time with its bones, the inside often does not get cooked completely.  I just hate seeing pinky and even bloody moist oozing from the meat as you cut in to it.  But with theirs, the chicken is cooked even in the inside so you get to indulge on them without the fuss of nibbling the bones just so to finish everything up.
The chicken and pork barbecues have the same marinate and flavoring.   You can either have them dipped on vinegar or catsup.  The marinate has been strictly overseen when used and have concocted by the owner herself.
Like in any birthday parties, Pancit and Spaghetti or Macaroni have to be present.  Heaven's also specializes in serving a well-rounded pancit.  You can order in a big serving for 3 to 4 persons (Pancit with Liempo is also on the option  for only P283.00) for P 165.00.  Look at how they were able to manage to mix miki and sotanghon in this not-your-usual pancit, and with all these fresh vegetables that is nor over-cooked.
While you are it, don't forget to try their Bar-Si-Log.  Served in the big cup above, an order can alter your craving for the usual Tap-Si-Log.  It's  Pork BBQ, on top of fried egg, over garlic rice.   Tired of the conventional garlic fried rice?  Well, take your choice then from Bacon Rice, Barbeque Rice and Paella Rice.
With the owner of Heaven's Barbeque
