The Sunday Roast with Hubby at Chelsea Grand Cafe

Now that our kids are independent enough to be left at home and take care of the dogs, hubby and I can go on date nights. With that, I could totally say, "Ah, this is life!"

Bhogs and I have been strangers to date nights and "us" times for a long time.  Having four kids is such a challenge and we've been through terrible moments.  But blessed as we'd be, we were able to manage through, as many other parents would as long as they remain in love and in faith with each other.

One Sunday, we decided to be people rather than parents.  It was a well spent Sunday at nonetheless than Chelsea Grand Cafe.  Whether you're on a date with your spouse or partner, or with the whole family and gang, Chelsea's Sunday Roast is the perfect buffet to talk about important matters while taking delight on their buffet offering.

As it's namesake "grand," it was a buffet spread that's nothing but grand.

Sunday brunch wouldn't be the same once you have tried the fete prepared by Chelsea Grand Cafe.

You can either start with a glorious breakfast feast of omelette, freshly-baked breads, a bevvy of cheese and delis and granola and continue on into a heavy lunch of seafood specialties, pasta, pizza and of course the town's juiciest and savoriest Roast Beef.

I've been hankering about a date with hubby for days, and boy wasn't this a fantastic idea.

The one I love the most was being enamored of how the spread was lavishly styled, my eyes couldn't decide where to loo first and my camera either!

The multi-leveled buffet table could be likened to a shabby-chic, country wedding (any glam gathering) set.

It's a hodge-podge of basketry, crates, herbs, flowers, fruits, vintage kitchen staples, re-purposed bottles etc.  The every details were perfect!  Kudos to whoever designed and set it up.

Even the dishes have been given the sparkle for it to stand up amongst the many ornaments.  These beet-colored fusilli salad is not only adorable but yummy as well.

Aside from all the food you can grab on the buffet table, the action corner, and the roasting table, you can also ask the staff to cook your chosen pasta from the Sunday Roast pasta menu.  My husband had Carbonara, since he doesn't order it for himself when the kids are with us, it's our kids' staple whenever we eat out..

Mine was Mac and Cheese, segueing from the normal pesto and pomodoro.

Doesn't his pasta plate looks luscious or what?  Both our pasta choices were great with the roast slices, crispy bacon and pizza.  Bhogs had started to enjoy his' while I have been busy larking around snapping photos.

What a beaut!  Believe me, this rosemary infused roast beef will give you a run to the gym after, cause one slice wouldn't be enough...let this warn you if you are on a diet, so stop dieting for a while and binge on here, on a Sunday!

Whenever we stay in a hotel, breakfast was always something we would always consider, and mostly because of the way they cook their bacon, and most of the hotels we've tried have cooked their bacon in the crispiest of ways, and we love it that way.  And that joy of biting into the crunchy (without the oil) pork strips, like you're nibbling on potato chips, is mirrored here in Chelsea, as they serve their bacon the way five-star hotels do.

Their thin-crust pizza is also something you should try.

I think my husband have eaten more of the oysters than anyone on that Sunday, satisfying his palate with the different sauces and dips that you could have it with.

In betweeners. you could have small bites of flatbreads, crackers and spread it with hummus, baba ganoush, or some jams.

Did I mention you can also have waffles and pancakes?

Puddings...

And dessert was nothing short of amazing!

Rice crispies bar, in rainbow outfit...

Chocolate cupcakes...

So this is how our dessert looked liked...

  1. I don't know this restaurant and I rarely go to Serendra but I'm pretty sure they offer a lot of good foods to try. I'm always in to desserts and those cupcakes are appetizing! <3
