I Remember the Days at Manila Hotel

Manila Hotel's Grand Lobby (picture was from them)

Her pristine beauty is back...With just that touch of the nostalgic hue...The Grand Dame...
The sights lure you as you walk along the corridors ... Fascinate you so that it becomes almost impossible to set your eyes back on your course...
You take a moment off ... or so you think... ‘I am sure, I can afford a couple of seconds...have been going so fast for a lifetime. I am already so light-years ahead, I can’t ever be late...

As I walked along the paths that led to the Sampaguita Hall....
Somewhere at the back of the mind a faint thought made me recall the stories foretold on the walls...
‘Oh! Da gud ol’ days of the Grand Dame..’ is all that I read, before the all encompassing program took over...
Then I bare witness as Manila Hotel  salutes its patrons and the good times of days gone by through the I Remember the Days program. The program is exclusive to guests who have once celebrated their anniversary, birthday, wedding, or any special event at Manila Hotel. To avail any of the exclusive privileges of this promotion, guests need to present a memento of their celebration at Manila Hotel. The keepsake can be a photo, a receipt, a menu card, or any memorabilia of your Manila Hotel experience.

"Remember? Do you remember, The times of your life? (Do you remember?)", as Atty. Joey Lina sang during the night as the program was launched.   It was an excerpt from Paul Anka's Times of Your Life song which he would sing to the guest everytime he comes near as he warmly welcomed everyone.   As the president of Manila Hotel, he addressed the crowd with these words, "There are so many beautiful stories that have happened at the Manila Hotel that are worth remembering.   We have created this special promotion to reminisce the wonderful moments you have here in our Hotel and at the same time pass on to the next generation your most treasured memories.”
All keepsakes from the guests will be posted on the I Remember the Days Wall and will be displayed at the Lobby Lounge for the entire duration of the promotion.

A memento can be exchanged to a complimentary bottle of wine when dining in any of the Hotel’s restaurants.
So take the photographs and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos and memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while
(words from Green Day's Time of Your Life song)

Apart from the proficient announcements from Manila Hotel's representatives, a capacious selection formed a gustatory experience that's worth coming here despite the heavy traffic.  Oh yes, I do eat with my eyes first, then with my camera's lens and of course...

This actually greeted me upon my arrival...
So I helped myself with these...
