Birthdays are big deals for us, especially when it is March. It's the season when we celebrate the whole month with a number of cakes and it had become the busiest month next to December. We celebrate three birthdays on March, my SIL, my daughter Danielle and mine.
As much as I would want to throw a party, I couldn't, my daughter doesn't like parties, and my husband does not like to spend! LOL! I used to cook for my kids but pastas, baked chicken and cakes have been passé. And since Kdrama is in, so does K-cuisine, Korean food. .
So I guess we just have to give in to the girls' request - Samgyeupsal or grilled pork belly or in general, all-you-can-eat Korean Grill complete with lettuce and lots of ban chan specially kimchi.
For this we sped-through BF Homes to search for a restaurant with a slot for dinner on my daughter's birthday. Driving through Aguirre, we found a couple of these kind and they are full and some even have lines and waiting diners.
It's so easy to spot the restaurants serving unli-Korean grill, as they were posted hugely outside their venues and we were at awe. Same to say with J-Ram's.
We were heistant at first as it is not a Korean restaurant so to say. It's Coffe and Pastries shop, which apparently serves a wide variety of dishes.
Sorry for the hazy (cloudy photos) as it was really smokey inside as everyone had the grill. Well, why not, for only P379 per pax, one can already enjoy yummy marinated pork belly as much as one can have complete with side dishes, lettuce, rice and desserts.
The interior is ok, with lovely walls painted on with a map, and with what they offer on another. May I just say something against their shabby wooden tables and chairs, I wished they could have gotten better-looking ones, there was a quilted cushion on one wall that would work best with white painted stool chairs.
The chairs aren't comfortable and the tables a little narrow and some were uneven.
The place gets really crowded during lunch and dinner, so make extra baon on your patience.
However, we love our mini celebration, they even threw in complimentary chocolate cake slices for the both of us and the staff greeted with a special birthday song number. Such a kind gesture from the owners.
And might I also say, let me tell a little secret, which ya'll should know, the owner have a pretty wife who bakes all the cakes and pastries in their shop and they have the most luscious chocolate cake, I've ever tried this side of town.
Nice restaurant :)
