A Savoring of Australian Grass-fed Beef Specials At Acacia Hotel's A Steakhouse

Among the many firsts in my life - first kiss, first truffle experience, first airplane ride, first zip-line adventure etc., one that I truly treasure the most is my first step into such hotels.  I'm such "mababaw" like that, but who wouldn't, each hotel evokes uniqueness in every details.  Adding to my long list of hotel dining experiences is the one I had yesterday at Acacia Hotel in Filinvest Alabang.

I'm also trying to recall any past feat in a hotel where it involved gormandizing in the lobby.  Maybe there would be an occasion or two, but I could hardly picture them anymore.  I guess it would be safe to say then that the lunch I had at Acacia can be categorized under this.  A Steakhouse, Acacia's premier resto serving it's namesake -steaks alongside The Lobby is conveniently settled at no where else, the lobby.  Haha... On the second floor is Acaci, where buffet is served.

A Steakhouse is on the left side upon your entry at the lobby.

I love the modern interior this hotel showcases, from the two-toned wave design of the carpet and the huge wing-back chairs, the white marble table to the glass wall that just welcomes the sunlight in.

But more than that is how they have given a whole new light to having meat in epic proportions but without burning a whole in your pocket.

Carnivores can now celebrate more because Acacia Hotel Manila have come up with a menu in partnership with Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), Austrade, Victoria Government and Qantas Airways baring a special dining promotion from  June 23 to August 23, 2015.

Diners are in for a beefed up treat at A Steakhouse as the year-old restaurant offer set menu selections featuring prime Australian grass fed beef for the main course at P 950 nett per order.

Head Chef Romualdo Palaypay, gives all meat lovers two healthy options to choose from. First is the 150g Australian grass-fed Tenderloin with honey marjoram, roasted pumpkin, sautéed brussels sprouts and roasted fig dolcetto.  served with

Second is the 160g Australian grass-fed Rib Eye with grilled asparagus, roasted potatoes and Chianti sauce that comes with Country Style Salad and Crème Catalana.

Chef Aldo has taken inspiration from the diverse and festive South American style of cooking—combining Australia’s free range proteins complemented with hearty produce and European inspired desserts.

Together with these, you can also have a soup or salad, for the soup is Creamy Spinach Shrimp.

Dessert is equally appealing as the steaks.   Profiteroles con Matillas by far is the biggest cream puff I've seen and had.  The choux puff were crispy on the outside but light and airy on the inside, the chocolate covering of the other choux made it hard and heavy, but nonetheless still delightful.  It isn't that cloyingly sweet so you can indulge without feeling too guilty, especially after voraciously finishing a huge chunk of meat.  I'm not really a fan of cream so I didn't get to appreciate the chocolate cream filling that much.

Thirst-quenchers - cold Pandan Tea, which I'm raving for.

Think you had enough?

Along with the other 35 restaurants who joined in this promotion, you can have a chance to be included in a raffle.

Guests availing of the above mentioned menus will be entitled to one raffle entry for a chance to win round trip tickets to Melbourne, Australia for two (2) or Php 5,000 worth of dining privileges.

With this special promotion, the five-star hotel together with its affiliates raises awareness on the health benefits of consuming grass-fed beef rather than the widely used grain-fed meat. Australian grass-fed beef is seen as essential component for a healthy diet as it is naturally low in fat and cholesterol, while offering a higher level of Omega-3 fatty acids. It also has been
known to lower the risk of certain cancers and blood pressure among others, making it a healthier option for gourmet meals.

Acacia Hotel’s specialty restaurant, A Steakhouse also offers a wide array of sumptuous ala carte choices such as Lobster Bisque, Oyster Rockefeller, Tableside Caesar Salad, Philly Cheese Angus Prime Steak Sandwich, Fresh Seafood and premium grilled steaks.
