I knew timing is everything in the world of parenting and family-building. But as a mom, I always fail in that department. I've been blessed with kids even without asking for them, but I never regretted anything, in fact, if I were to choose a life, I'd still choose the kind I have. And No, my life isn't perfect, nor have I been living in luxury but God was so graceful to bless our family comfortably and I couldn't be more grateful.
That was why, on my birthday, when my husband asked me what I want on my 43rd birthday, I thought to just freeze that day and let me live that age a bit longer, cause time have caught up with us and we aren't getting any younger, nor our kids are.
So he asked, and I answered,"I want to have a maternity boudoir photograph session."
I thought he is going to laugh at me, but he didn't and he said "Okay!" He thought I'd ask to travel somewhere again for our baby mooning since I have been checking out certain beach destinations.
So I set out to ask Joy Gurtiza of Joybites.com, a fellow mom and food blogger who have just set up her photography business - Seriously Boudior. It was my first ever photo shoot of the likes and I'm not sure if I would be able to pull it off. Of course, I wanted this to be really special and I needed to suck all the confidence juice there is and make "me" shine on the photos, after all, it's going to be my last maternity. (Hmmm, I thought I said that three times before). I was so happy to have turned to our neighbor's daughters to make me instantly beautiful on that day shoot, Gena and Jennifer of Simply Gorgeous Creations by GTC.
Finally, I decided to set up the shoot near our place, at the new savvy hotel in Resort's World Manila - Savoy Hotel Manila. It was also my daughter's prom day so we shared the Runway suite to have our makeover sesh with the HMUA sisters. Then later that night My husband and I took our night off from parenting and relaxed a bit at one of the Essential Rooms of Savoy.

Maternity Boudoir Photography with Seriously Boudoir
Talking about a wonderful experience, the kind where you can showboat and would always go back to, Savoy Hotel Manila really lived up to my expectations, when I believed them when they said they offer a "space to experience."
Aside from being a stone-throw away from NAIA Terminal 3, the hotel can cater to every clients needs in the most interesting way. I was so happy to have had our photo session in Savoy as every corner of the hotel looked clean and stylish.
The hotel is fairly new, but you wouldn't notice, as every staff were so attentive and cheerful. The lobby speaks oh so wonderfully with space, stylish, vibrant and modern.
The Lobby
If you haven't heard of babymoon, whether you are expecting or not, well now you've learned something new. It may have several connotations, but when used in the travel industry it refers to a relaxing and romantic vacation or getaway taken by parents-to-be before their baby is born. How sensible and what a great idea-why didn’t we know about that when our first child was born?
However, after four kids and our youngest at 13, it seems we are having a baby for the first time, again...
Babymooners on beachBabymoon vacations are one of the most popular trends in travel today with such good reasons. This for many is the last chance for some real intimate, alone time with their mate before the long sleep-interrupted nights begin. Many couples stay close to home while others plan a quick child-free getaway, the last opportunity for a romantic time together. Babymoons are designed for optimum pampering and luxury.
So I've thought, well, what great way to start or even do a babymoon with some self-love act like the maternity boudoir and a relaxing stay at the hotel. With stylish luxury and the many gourmet experiences, because, let’s face it, this momma is eating for two, Savoy lets couples enjoy both ‘us’ and ‘me’ time, you see.
The Runway Suite.
Savoy's Runway Suite was perfect for this, as it is spacious, and is bathe with so much sunlight, while the airport background is a plus.
The suite is spacious enough for the make over and the shoot. I love the teal sofa, I'm sure millennials will do too. The suite we had is oddly shaped but still makes an interesting space.
The Poolside.
The pool area is just so stunning with the pool set in the middle where the buildings meet, what seemed to be a geometric hole opens up to the bare sky and floods the area with sunlight, so when you're swimming, it feels like you're in a resort somewhere.
The Second Floor Hallway.
On the same floor as the pool area, you can find meeting rooms and The Square Lounge.
This common space is also open for everyone to relax in, whether it’s with friends and family. You can set a business meeting over cocktails or coffee and pastries, play table games, or just plug in your gadgets and enjoy a good wifi connection while finishing up your work. It's like a co-work space in the comfort of a hotel.
We were assigned to one of their Essentials suite. Each spanning from 21 up to 27 sq. m.,
It's simplicity meets functionality and comfort, were you can choose from Twin Bed and Double Bed types.

Buffet Breakfast
Savoy Hotel Manila offers different accommodation packages well-suited for your lifestyle needs, you may have a room stay package only or one that comes with free breakfast. I would rather suggest you have breakfast here. or brunch (best suggestion), over at Savoy Cafe.
I wish I could have discovered the term babymooning in my life a lot sooner, and so does Savoy's exceptional service and amenities.
Well, timing is everything, so they say, and what could be the most appropriate time to know how well Savoy plays in the hotel business than now. So grateful for this moments, really worth sharing.
To end, let me just tell you that I trust God's timing. A lot of times, we want things on our time, and we come up with our own plans of what we want to do with our lives, but God be like, "Haha, you're funny. That's cute. Anyways, this is what you're going to do," and I've learned to just sit back.
